Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Venture Intern to join our team in Barcelona. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure to venture capital, market research, and strategic business analysis. The intern will work closely with the Act Second Ventures team to support investment activities, conduct in-depth market analyses, assess potential ventures, and assist in building new businesses from the ground up. This is an ideal role for someone in their 3rd or 4th year of a bachelor’s program in Business at a top university or an MBA candidate looking to gain real-world experience in venture capital and entrepreneurship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, emerging markets, competitive landscapes, and potential investment opportunities.
  • Venture Analysis: Assist in evaluating new venture opportunities, including financial modeling, business case development, and risk assessment.
  • Due Diligence: Support the due diligence process for potential investments/ventures, gathering and analyzing data on target companies and markets.
  • Strategic Support: Collaborate with the Ventures team to provide strategic insights and recommendations for portfolio companies.
  • Presentation Development: Prepare presentations, reports, and investment memos for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operational Support: Assist in the operational aspects of launching and managing new ventures, including project management and stakeholder coordination.
  • Networking and Relationship Building: Participate in meetings with entrepreneurs, investors, and other key stakeholders to build your network and gain insights into the venture ecosystem.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Business at a top university or an MBA candidate at a leading business school.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in venture capital and entrepreneurship.
  • Exceptional research and data analysis capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & Google Drive, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Fluent in English (mandatory).
  • Ability to work on-site in Barcelona.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship experience in consulting, venture capital, private equity, or startups.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation methods, and investment analysis.
  • Interest in emerging industries and disruptive technologies.
