Job Description

We are looking for a Shopify Developer Intern to work across Act Second’s agency and venture teams. The ideal candidate will assist in the development, customization, and optimization of Shopify-based websites for our clients and portfolio ventures. This role offers hands-on experience in web development, with exposure to multiple industries and brands. You will work closely with experienced developers, designers, and marketers, contributing to real-world projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Shopify Development: Assist in building and customizing Shopify stores for both agency clients and ventures in the portfolio.
• Theme Customization: Work on theme customization using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid, ensuring responsive and high-performing websites.
• Third-Party App Integration: Support the integration and configuration of third-party Shopify apps to enhance store functionality.
• Content Updates: Help with product uploads, collection management, and general content updates across Shopify stores.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Identify and resolve technical issues related to Shopify websites, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the design, content, and marketing teams to ensure web development aligns with creative and business goals.
• Performance Optimization: Assist in optimizing site performance, including page load speed, mobile responsiveness, and usability.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of websites to ensure they meet design and functionality requirements before launch.

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (3rd or 4th year), or a recent graduate.
• Strong interest in web development and e-commerce platforms.
• Basic knowledge of front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Shopify’s Liquid templating language.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in English (mandatory).
• Ability to work on-site in Barcelona.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience or internship working on Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices.
• Basic understanding of SEO for e-commerce websites.
